Terms of use
The rules that apply to the ES Schémas and ES Schémas Mobile apps and to their sync service.

1. Purpose
The ES Schémas (studio) and ES Schémas Mobile (phone companion) apps, and the service that syncs projects between devices, are published by ESCS BV (ElectroSmart), Hoeilaartsesteenweg 107, 3090 Overijse, Belgium, VAT BE0692.916.332. By creating an account or using the apps, you accept these terms.
2. An assistance tool
You alone remain responsible for the design of the installation, its compliance with the RGIE and the other applicable rules, and the documents you produce. The app’s checks replace neither your professional judgement nor the inspection by an approved inspection body.
The apps’ features may change from one version to the next.
3. Your account
An account is created with a Google account, a Microsoft account or a verified e-mail address. Keep your sign-in credentials confidential; if you lose a device, “Sign out of all devices” revokes every session. A Google account, a Microsoft account and an e-mail account are separate accounts, even with the same address.
4. Trial and subscription
A new account gets a 30-day free trial, with every feature and no payment method. To keep using ES Schémas after that, a subscription is required, at the prices shown on the Pricing page when you subscribe.
Launch offer. The first year of an account’s first yearly subscription costs €390 excl. VAT; the subscription then renews at the yearly price in force.
Students. Pupils and students enrolled at an educational or training institution get free access, with every feature, for as long as their studies last. Access is activated on presentation of proof of enrolment, to be renewed each school year. It is reserved for learning and coursework, and may not be used for invoiced work. At the end of their studies, a subscription is required to continue.
The payment, renewal and cancellation terms are presented when you subscribe. A subscription taken out in the App Store, Google Play or the Microsoft Store is billed, renewed and cancelled according to that store’s rules.
5. Your content
Your projects belong to you. You authorise us only to store, copy and transmit them between your devices in order to provide the service. You warrant that you hold the necessary rights to what you put in them, in particular your clients’ data, which you process under your own responsibility (see the privacy policy).
6. Service limits
To remain available to everyone, the service applies reasonable limits per account, including:
- a limited sync space, and 40 MiB per attachment;
- a version history of 30 days, then of one version per day, 300 at most per project;
- a number of requests and storage operations per minute and per day.
Reaching a limit suspends uploads to the service, never your work on the device: projects remain saved locally. The service may be interrupted, for maintenance or in the event of an incident, with no guarantee of availability. Regularly export your important projects as an .esschema archive, which is an independent backup.
7. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to access another account’s data, to circumvent the service’s limits or security, to overload it, or to use it to store content that is unrelated to your projects or unlawful. We may suspend an account that breaches these rules, after informing you, except in an emergency.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, ESCS BV is not liable for indirect damage, nor for the consequences of a design, calculation or checking error that your professional review should have identified, nor for any loss of data that exporting archives would have prevented. Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
9. Ending your use
You may stop using the apps and delete your account at any time; an ongoing subscription is cancelled separately. Should we discontinue the service, we would give you advance notice as far as possible, so that you can export your projects; the projects saved on your devices remain usable.
10. Changes
These terms may change along with the apps. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version; in the event of a significant change, we will let you know in the app or by e-mail.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by Belgian law. Failing an amicable settlement, disputes fall within the jurisdiction of the competent Belgian courts.
